It’s
Heart Work
From Television to Seminars, Date Camp Helps the Lovelorn
Date Camp, a television series in the making, is now also producing
seminars geared toward singles who need coaching in dating, personal
development and relationships.
Leslie Helm and Jalynn Venis, developers of the Date Camp Seminar Series,
are gathering together some of the finest personal coaches to work with
singles looking for that extra boost of confidence and the skills they
need to help them find that special someone.
Helm, a certified life coach, and Venis, a television producer and seminar
facilitator, recognized a need for singles coaching in the wake of the
popularity of dating services.
"Dating services are the shotgun approach to getting a lot of dates under
your belt,” says Helm. To find true love, you’ve got to get
a date, but there’s no instruction sheet for dating.
“Dating doesn’t have to be hard, but people make it so hard. When
you’re clear on what you want and you do the work, dating will come easily
to you.”
The “work” that Helm refers to involves developing trust
in ourselves and others, improving communication skills, and adopting
a new attitude that takes the dread out of dating and emphasizes the
fun and joy of getting to know a new person.
“It’s not hard work,” says Helm. “It’s heart work.”
“They retreat into their computers, romance novels and their televisions,” says
Venis. “They retreat into small lives, rather than living fulfilling ones.
Through Date Camp, we believe we can improve anyone’s chances for success
by showing them how to date fearlessly and joyfully.”
Date Camp seminars will be listed on the SinglesNews.Net events & dance
Calendar and in the weekly Events & Dance Newsletter.
Date Camp, the television series created by Jalynn Venis and co-produced
with Transtar Entertainment Company, is being developed and marketed
to networks as a reality program that emphasizes outdoor activities that
challenge and bond daters, combined with confidence-building workshops
facilitated by Date Camp coaches and experts.
Throughout the process of group and one-on-one coaching, hot buttons
are identified, unflattering characteristics are overcome, and daters
learn to recognize and enhance their natural gifts. Participants test
new skills and techniques through trial dates and evening encounters.
Best of all, everyone who participates and everyone who watches will
have a chance to win a "Dream Date" to an exotic location.
Television needs a compassionate dating show that doesn't throw people
away - a show where everyone wins! Date Camp is the one.
